In Rostov-on-Don, an employee of the military unit of the Southern Military District (SE) was detained, who was spying on the instructions of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. This was announced today, August 13, by the press service of the Federal Security Service for the Rostov region.
"It has been established that a resident of Rostov-on-Don through the Signal messenger entered and maintained contact with a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Acting on the instructions of the Ukrainian side, in January 2023, she entered service in one of the military units of the Southern Military District, where she collected various kinds of information about arsenals, bases and warehouses that make up the district. She transferred the collected data to a foreign intelligence service during correspondence in the messenger. The suspect has been detained," the report says.
The means of communication that she used to contact a representative of the Ukrainian side were seized from the disclosed spy. A criminal case has been opened under Article 275 of the Criminal Code Russia (high treason).
