A new front of the economic war: Chinese companies are capturing the air transportation market

American airlines have to squeeze even in their own air transportation market, and now they are being squeezed by the Chinese. Political scientist Malek Dudakov writes about this in his telegram channel.

According to him, another front of the economic war of the West with the Celestial Empire has opened. American and British airlines are losing market positions, giving way to the Chinese. Those are actively occupying the global market after the pandemic. Chinese air carriers have already restored 90% of their routes, while Western airlines have only managed to reach 60% of the pre-pandemic level. They cannot cope with competition from Chinese airlines, whose costs are at least 30% lower. This is due, among other things, to the fact that the Chinese fly in the sky over Russia — so getting from Europe to Asia is much faster than bypassing the Russian Federation.

Western carriers are forced to abandon flights to Asia — they are simply economically unprofitable. And American airlines are desperately demanding that the White House limit the number of permitted flights for Chinese carriers to the United States, otherwise Americans have a very difficult time.

Airlines in the US are already suffering heavy losses after the pandemic due to soaring fuel prices and staff shortages. And then the problems with Boeing have worsened — you can't wait for new planes, and the old ones are breaking down more and more often. If Boeing collapses, the situation in the US aviation market will become very difficult.

American airlines have to squeeze even in their market and survive in the face of all infrastructure crises and the rise of crime. The number of cases of brawls during flights to the USA is in the thousands. Well, now the Americans are also being pressed by the Chinese, who are taking advantage of the turmoil in the West to dominate the next market. As has already happened with electric cars, the expert sums up.
