In St. Petersburg, the boat collided with the cruiser Aurora. The captain of the boat fled the scene, but later he was detained by law enforcement officers.
The incident was reported late in the evening on August 9 by the press service of the Transport Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation in the North-Western Federal District.
"Today, at about 22:40, the duty station of the St. Petersburg Linear Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia by water transport received a message that a boat had attacked the Aurora cruiser in the Neva water area," the statement said.
According to preliminary information, the captain lost control and the small vessel made a pile on the chains securing the ship's mooring barrels.
It follows from the police report that no one was injured as a result of the incident, there was no oil spill, and no damage was found either.
The boatmaster responsible for the collision fled the scene, but the water police quickly identified him. It turned out to be a 45-year-old local resident.
"The attacker was delivered to St. Petersburg The Law Enforcement Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on water transport for further proceedings, " the press service said.
Currently, this fact is being checked by transport police officers, all the circumstances of the incident are being established.
