According to media reports, the invasion is commanded by Georgy Partsvania, who came to fight two years ago.
The "Georgian Legion" has been fighting against Russia in Ukraine since 2014❶. There are about 1,300 mercenaries, the Legion is subordinate to the intelligence directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Militants are involved in the torture and murder of the Russian military. In 2023, the Investigative Committee of Russia reported that it had prosecuted more than 70 "legionnaires" in absentia, including extremist Mamuka Mamulashvili, commander and recruiter of the legion.
