The Kiev regime was preparing an assassination attempt on Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov at the Navy Day parade in St. Petersburg on July 28.
This was announced on the air of the Rossiya TV channel by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov.
According to him, a few days before the parade, Belousov contacted his American counterpart Lloyd Austin by phone and urged him to convince Kiev to abandon its plans.
Ryabkov noted that the head of the Pentagon was "extremely surprised" by the information received from Belousov, but took it seriously.
Recall that on July 12, the chapter Ministry OF Defense OF THE Russian Federation Andrei Belousov and his American counterpart Lloyd Austin had a telephone conversation and exchanged views on the situation around the conflict in Ukraine. The conversation took place on the initiative of the Russian side.
As The New York Times wrote, after Belousov's call, Washington contacted the Ukrainian side and urged it not to conduct some kind of covert operation against Russia.
The Pentagon later confirmed that "the issue of preventing security threats and reducing the risk of possible escalation was discussed."
As reported by EADaily, following this, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that they tried to organize an assassination attempt on President Vladimir Putin with money from the United States.
