Ukraine plans to prepare the basis for concluding a "just peace" with Russia in order to end the armed conflict as early as 2024.
This was stated in his next video message by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky. It is published on his account on the X network (formerly Twitter).
"Our constant goal is to prepare a real basis for a just end to the war this year," the statement said.
Earlier, Zelensky, in an interview with British television, admitted the possibility of peace talks with representatives of Russia, even if it would be President Vladimir Putin.
Moscow reacted with restraint — Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that it was necessary to wait for Kiev to take any concrete actions.
Meanwhile, Russia's position is known. In June, Russian President Vladimir Putin made new peace proposals to resolve the conflict on Ukraine, providing for the recognition of the status of Crimea, DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions as regions of Russia.
In addition, the peace agreement should provide for the consolidation of Ukraine's non-aligned and nuclear-free status, its demilitarization and denazification, as well as the lifting of anti-Russian sanctions.
It is clear that in Kiev such a position was considered unacceptable. By all indications, the regime's leadership decided to achieve at least some local success on the battlefield in order to improve its negotiating positions.
Earlier, EADaily reported that fighting began on the border of the Kursk region. There is reason to believe that the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine plans to open a new front here.
