The United States continues to reduce gas supplies to Europe, which, after such actions, cannot abandon products from Russia. Thus, according to Business Insider, the anti-Russian plan of a united Europe is actually thwarted.
"The long-term import of Russian gas to Europe is partly due to the redistribution of fuel demand from the United States to other places this year," the published material says.
At the end of July The EU has purchased 1.5 million tons of American LNG. 1.3 million tons were imported from Russia. The difference thus turns out to be small.
"This year, the difference in the volume of supplies to the continent is shrinking more and more. For comparison: at the end of January, Europe imported 5.2 million tons of LNG from the USA, and from Russia — only 1.5 million tons," writes Business Insider.
Experts attribute this trend to an elementary benefit. Americans send products to where they pay more, that is, to Asia, and not to Europe. And the rejection of Russian energy carriers remains a little feasible idea.
