Former US President Barack Obama did not support the candidacy of Kamala Harris for the presidency, writes the New York Post. The former president believes that she will not be able to defeat the Republican candidate Donald Trump, sources close to the Biden family told the publication.

"Obama is very upset because he knows she won't be able to win," the newspaper reported. The source added that Barack Obama considers her incompetent.

At the same time, the NYP interlocutor does not have high hopes for a televised debate between Trump and Harris.

"Wait for the debate. Harris will say inappropriate things about Israel, Palestine and Ukraine. She will definitely say something very stupid," the source said.

He added that Obama and U.S. President Joe Biden know this is going to happen.

According to the source, Obama hoped to "get Biden out of the way," and George Clooney's article in the New York Times asking the Democratic leader to resign was part of that plan.
