Joe Biden made a "very wise step" by refusing to seek a second term in the White House, believes one of the leading Armenian Americanists Suren Sargsyan. He considers Biden's decision "fair both to his own party and to the American people."

"Biden is actually a serious politician who has come a long way. If he had become president at a younger age, he could have become one of the best and most beloved presidents in the history of the United States," Sarkisian shares his opinion on social networks today, July 22.

He called the nomination of Hillary Clinton in 2016 "one of the biggest miscalculations" on the part of the Democrats: "if the same Joe Biden had been nominated then, he would have had a better chance of defeating Donald Trump."

"In this case, Biden's legacy would have been significantly different, he would have been remembered in a different way. By the way, during his tenure as a senator, he was one of Armenia's best friends," the expert notes.

As for the elections to be held in November, the Armenian analyst considers the candidacy of the current vice president Kamala Harris to be a "serious headache for Trump."

"The whole liberal wing will rally around her, and this will create a pretty strong wave. It will be supported by all of NATO and the entire EU. In fact, Trump is going to fight with half the world. And at Kamala Harris has 70-80 million votes in her pocket," Sarkisian believes.

As reported by EADaily, 81-year-old Joe Biden announced on July 21 that he had decided to withdraw from the presidential race. On the social network X, he explained that he wants to focus on fulfilling his duties until the end of his term in the White House, and also called on Democrats to support the candidacy of Vice President Kamala Harris.
