Popular stand-up comedian Danila Poperechny plans to challenge the recently assigned status of a foreign agent, not really hoping for the success of the complaint. He stated this in a video on his YouTube channel.
"I am in the registry under number 813. I must give it my due — I lasted long enough," stated Poperechny.
The comedian explained that in recent days he had been talking with lawyers and trying to figure out what he could and could not do now.
"I'll tell you why I'm so angry and worried about this whole situation. To my great regret, I love Russia very much," he said.
According to Poperechny, he learned the news about his entry into the register of foreign agents from his colleague, blogger Eldar Jarakhov.
Only after that, a notification from the Ministry of Justice arrived at the artist's place of residence.
"It looked like: "Great, you're a foreign agent now. Good luck."There was literally only a notice that I was taking over the watch and that was it, no details," he noted.
According to Poperechny, it would be useful if the Ministry of Justice attached a QR code with a video tutorial "How to be a foreign agent" to such a letter, since the agency does not explain the rules that foreign agents must adhere to.
As reported by EADaily, Poperechny was included in the list of foreign agents on June 14 of this year. The Ministry of Justice pointed out that Poperechny participated in the creation of materials from foreign agents, opposed a special military operation, and also received financial support from foreign sources.
Now Poperechny lives in the USA.
