The embargo on imports from Turkey will not affect the Russian market as Egypt and many other countries are ready to supply with the same products, Russia’s Industry and Trade Minister Denis Manturov said on Dec 10.
“I think this is possible,” he said, when asked if Egypt could replace Turkey as supplier of some products.
He said that the same products are made in Russia too. “We are actively developing our own production. But we also have friendly partners, who are ready to replace the Turkish imports,” the minister said.
As EADaily reported earlier, on Nov 28 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on measures to ensure the security of Russia and its citizens and on special economic measures against Turkey. The government has published a list of Turkish products that will be banned in Russia starting from Jan 1 2016.
