Opposition Bloc breaks 5% barrier in Kiev despite the ruling regime’s attempts to rig the ballot

They in Kiev are deliberately delaying the summing up of the Oct 25 municipal elections, according to the leader of the Opposition Bloc Oleksandr Puzanov.

“I have a protocol confirming that the number of votes exceeds the number of ballot papers. We have examined 100% of ballot papers with wet stamps and have seen that our bloc has broken the 5% barrier and will have its own group in the Kiev Council. This is contrary to the ruling regime’s plans – for they believe that there must be no Opposition Bloc in Kiev. They are doing their best to keep us away from the Kiev Council and are not even trying to keep this secret,” Puzanov said.

As EADaily, according to preliminary results, the Opposition Bloc is winning in 17 regions. In Dnipropetrovsk, Donets, Zaporizhia, Kirovograd, Lugansk, Mykolaiv and Odessa. Despite the ruling regime’s obstacles, the bloc has polled 15% of votes in Kharkov region, 8.3% in Zhytomyr, 6% in Poltava, 6% in Sumy, more than 5% in Vinnitsa, Kiev, Cherkasy, Chernihiv.
