Colonel of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Ivan Voronich, who held a senior position in the Special Operations Center, was killed by a firearm in Kiev.
This was announced this morning, July 10, by the Kiev public. By now, the information has been confirmed by the Ukrainian media, citing sources in law enforcement agencies.
They clarified that 50-year-old Colonel Voronich held the position of senior operations officer of the 1st department of the 16th directorate of the Special Operations Center as part of the SBU.
Judging by the incoming information, this officer was literally shot in the center of Kiev — an unknown person fired five shots at him from a pistol with a silencer, after which he managed to escape.
Igor Mosiychuk, a former deputy of the Verkhovna Rada, commented on this incident in his Telegram channel❶.
"An unidentified man approached the SBU Colonel Voronich Ivan Ivanovich, made 5 targeted shots, after which he disappeared from the scene of the crime," the ex-MP stated.
According to him, Voronich died of gunshot wounds at the scene. At the moment, law enforcement officers are taking measures to establish the identity of the perpetrator of the liquidation.
