Today, on Mar 26, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the border service of Russia’s Federal Security Service to pay special attention to the border with Ukraine.
“The Russian-Ukrainian border requires special attention. The situation there is complicated. Thousands of people are fleeing from the armed conflict in the southeast of Ukraine to the Russian territory,” Putin said.
“We must further ensure free entry for refugees and free movement for vehicles with humanitarian aid, but, on the other hand, we must be vigilant so as to be able to detect those who have taken part in punitive operations against civilians and are now trying to cover up their tracks or are planning crimes in the territory of Russia,” the Russian president said.
