In Austria, tickets for concerts of Russian artists are being sold out "at zero"

Russian artists remain in demand in Austria and continue to gather full houses. This was stated by the Russian Ambassador to - Andrey Grozov.

"The public votes with tickets, the halls are full, which is more eloquent than any declarations," he told RIA Novosti.

In particular, he recalled the May screenings of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's opera "Eugene Onegin" at the Vienna State Opera under the direction of the young Russian conductor Timur Zangiev.

"The Russian component is widely represented at the recently opened Salzburg Festival, a showcase of world musical culture, where works by Tchaikovsky, Mussorgsky, and Rachmaninoff have always been heard and, in my deep conviction, will be heard," the ambassador noted.

He believes that culture unites both countries even when political relations are difficult.

As reported by EADaily, in October last year, Vice Chancellor and Minister of Culture of Austria Andreas Babler proposed awarding the Russian conductor of Greek origin Theodor Currentzis with the highest state award in the field of culture - the badge of honor "For Science and Art", thereby including the musician in the so—called curia of arts. The corresponding proposal was sent to the country's President Alexander van der Bellen.
