The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, said that today there was an attempt on the commander of the Charter, Obolensky. He announced this in his telegram channel.
"I talked to the commander of the Charter By Igor Obolensky. Today there was an attempt on Igor. The attacker and his accomplice were detained. The necessary procedural actions are already being taken. There was a report by (acting head of the SBU) Alexander Poklad on this issue," Zelensky writes in his telegram channel.
He threatened consequences for "this attempt to strike at Ukraine and the Ukrainian commander," referring to Russia.
According to Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko ❶, the man who "was preparing to kill the Charter commander Igor Obolensky" was recruited by Russia. "The Russian curators pretended to be the SBU and convinced him that Obolensky was a traitor," the deputy said in his telegram channel.
Obolensky is the commander of the 2nd corps of the National Guard of Ukraine "Charter".
As reported by EADaily, Zelensky previously considered the commander of the Charter corps, Igor Obolensky, along with the commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Drapaty, and the commander of the 3rd Army Corps, Andrei Biletsky[1], as a candidate for the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Recall, this position was occupied by Drapaty.
