Warsaw does not trust the Kremlin's assurances about the absence of a threat to Poland. This was stated by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry Radoslaw Sikorski.

According to Sikorsky, the statements of Russian officials cannot be taken as guarantees.

"If representatives of the Russian authorities say that this will not happen, then they can either lie or abandon their intentions after our warnings," the Polish foreign minister believes.

He also noted that as long as Ukraine continues to resist, Russia is not able to launch a large-scale offensive against Western countries.

"Of course, while Ukraine is courageously defending itself and inflicting losses on Russia, Russia is not in a position to carry out a general offensive against the West, including on Poland. That is why we are helping Ukraine. However, Russia is capable of provocations," the Polish minister said.

Earlier, the British newspaper The Telegraph and the Polish edition of Onet, citing sources, reported that Russia could be preparing a "limited military provocation" against Poland or one of the Baltic countries. In response, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that in the Western press "a lot of horror stories are published in relation to the Russian Federation."
