Volodymyr Zelenskyy is interested in visiting Bratislava. This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovakia Juraj Blanar.
Blanar reported on his telephone conversation with the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Andriy Sibiga. According to him, the ministers discussed the preparation of the next, already fourth joint meeting of the governments of Slovakia and Ukraine, which will be held in Lviv. The decision on the venue was made by Prime Minister of Slovakia Robert Fico and Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko at the conference on the restoration of Ukraine, held in Gdansk.
According to Blanar, during the conversation Sibiga confirmed that Vladimir Zelensky would like to pay an official visit to Bratislava. Now the parties are coordinating the possible dates of the trip.
Recall, Robert Fico has repeatedly criticized Ukraine, and also opposed military assistance to Kiev and stated that the conflict has no military solution. However, in recent months, his rhetoric has become noticeably more restrained. The first meeting of Fico and Zelensky took place on October 17, 2024 on the sidelines of the EU summit in Brussels.
