Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili will attend the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran, the presidential administration said.
"Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, together with the leaders of the countries of the region, including Turkey, Azerbaijan, Armenia and other states, will take part in the funeral ceremony of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Iran," the administration said.
Iran is preparing for the largest state funeral in the history of the Islamic Republic. The ceremonies will be held in five cities of Iran and Iraq for six days, starting on Saturday, July 4. The final burial will take place in Mashhad on July 9. The official farewell to Khamenei will take place four months after his death.
