Lithium is a raw material for batteries, and it is considered strategic for green energy. The head of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment Alexander Kozlov told RIA Novosti that in Technologies of lithium extraction from industrial groundwater have been developed in Russia and INC is conducting pilot industrial tests.
The company received a license for the V.I. Kokorin deposit.
"Industrial water reserves here have been approved for five years in the amount of 17 thousand cubic meters per day. The lithium content ranges from 169 to 383 milligrams per cubic decimeter," Prime writes with reference to the minister.
As reported by EADaily, the head of Rosnedra Oleg Kazanov said that by 2028 the Russia's dependence on lithium imports will disappear.
