President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko explained the reason for his harsh statements addressed to the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, noting that they followed in response to threats.
The Belarusian leader voiced the corresponding comment in his interview with the Al-Arabiya TV channel, which is published by the BelTA news agency.
Alexander Grigorievich stressed that he made his statements to Zelensky in response to his threatening rhetoric about Kiev's readiness to strike at Belarus.

"I was silent. Even everyone was surprised that I was silent. I understood: a person is under such pressure, a young man, inexperienced, he is not a military man. Maybe something in my head didn't work. But when they started threatening me, I had to respond," the Belarusian president said.
As EADaily reported, earlier Alexander Lukashenko said that the conflicts in Ukraine and The Middle East may stop as early as this year.
