The Ukrainian-Polish border has become a place of transport collapse. Huge queues blocked traffic in front of the checkpoint "Krakovets" in the Lviv region. According to the Telegram channel of the publication "COUNTRY.Ua", kilometers of cars, trucks and passenger buses lined up at the entrances to the border crossing.
The situation is aggravated by the upcoming repair work in the neighboring direction. Starting from June 15, at another overloaded point — "Shegini — Medyka" — repair of lanes intended for buses traveling from Ukraine to Poland will begin. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine tried to calm the passengers. Allegedly, the bus service is not planned to be completely interrupted.
During the repair work, the estimated capacity of the border for public transport will drop to a critical level. According to preliminary estimates, border guards will be able to arrange no more than eight buses in 12 hours of shift. This means that the waiting time at the border for many passengers can last for a day.
Drivers of passenger vehicles and trucks traveling through Krakovets are also advised to be patient. The queues, according to eyewitnesses, stretched for several kilometers, and there are no prerequisites for their reduction in the near future.
