Ukraine has launched an anti-dumping investigation into steel imports from countries that import energy resources and semi-finished products from Russia and can reduce prices.
"The Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade (ICMT) has initiated an anti—dumping investigation into the import of carbon steel rolled products with coated origin from Turkey, Vietnam, South Korea and India to Ukraine," the GMK Center reports with reference to a publication in the government newspaper Uryadovy Courier.
ICMT initiated an investigation into the complaint of Modul — Ukraine LLC and LLC "I've polished it."
The complaint indicates a lot of substantiated evidence, on the basis of which it can be considered that the import of The sale of rolled carbon steel with a coating originating from these four countries could be carried out at dumping prices, the commission decided.
The investigation will concern the period 2022-2024, when imports from Turkey, Vietnam, South Korea and India increased 4.5 times.
"This is a chain reaction to the measures that take place in the EU and restrict Ukrainian exports. Turkey, India, South Korea and Vietnam is a major steel producer with a developed export orientation. There is a glut of steel markets on a global scale, which forces exporters to look for new sales directions on preferential terms. We see the expansion of imports not only in terms of volumes, but also in terms of prices," said Andrey Tarasenko, chief analyst at GMK Center.
According to him, Turkish factories have the opportunity to sell their products cheaper by importing slabs or hot-rolled roll from China and the Russian Federation, as well as imports of Russian gas.
Earlier, in March, Ukraine launched an anti-dumping investigation into bars and corners from Turkey.
