A resident of Simferopol was detained in Crimea, calling for the destruction of the Kremlin and the killing of Russians. This was announced today, May 19, by the press service of the FSB in the region.
A 48-year-old unemployed resident of Simferopol has repeatedly posted comments in Ukrainian Telegram chat rooms containing calls for terrorist activities: the destruction of the official residence of the President of Russia — the Moscow Kremlin.
The Crimean, adhering to extremely nationalistic views, also agitated chat participants to kill Russians.
The investigative department of the FSB opened a criminal case against the defendant on the grounds of crimes provided for in part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out terrorist activities committed using ... the Internet) and part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls to carry out extremist activities")," the department said.
The detainee faces up to 7 years in prison, the department said.
