The European Union and Ukraine have not yet signed key documents for the allocation of a loan of 90 billion euros to Kiev. This was announced by the representative of the European Commission Balyash Uyvari.
"We can confirm that we have yet to sign three documents that are necessary for the allocation of the loan. The most advanced at this stage can be considered a memorandum of understanding… But there are also other necessary documents," he said at a briefing in Brussels.
Despite promises to transfer the first tranche of the loan in early June, Brussels cannot technically make a financial transfer until a number of documents are adopted. We are talking about the memorandum of understanding, the program of macro-financial assistance to Ukraine and the regulations on the fund The EU to help Ukraine.
Recall, after many months of discussions, the European Union approved a loan to Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros in mid-April. They promised to link the financing with strict conditions for combating corruption in the country. "It is expected that most of the funds (about 60 billion euros) will go to military aid, the rest to support the Ukrainian state budget.
