The Marquise tanker, which was attacked by the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the end of April, leaves the Black Sea along the coast of Turkey and comes with fuel.
On April 29, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that it had attacked the Marquise oil tanker under the flag of Cameroon in the Black Sea. They clarified that the vessel was standing without cargo 210 kilometers south-east of Tuapse and it was hit by two unmanned boats — in the stern, in the area of the helical steering group and the engine room. The General Staff could not assess the damage to the vessel, but believed that it was waiting for the shipment to be loaded from another tanker.
According to AIS vessels, on May 8, the Marquise tanker is approaching the Bosphorus Strait and is preparing to leave the Black Sea. Judging by the route, the tanker has passed most of the way in the territorial waters of Turkey and is carrying cargo. Its draft is 10.3 meters with a maximum of 11.5. The tanker can carry up to 38 thousand tons of oil products.
Obviously, the vessel not only did not receive serious damage, but also received a cargo of petroleum products. The tanker does not indicate the final point of arrival.
The vessel is under sanctions The EU and the UK for transporting Russian fuel bypassing sanctions.
As EADaily reported, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are attacking tankers, oil terminals and refineries in Russia, trying to reduce Russia's exports. Drone strikes do cause damage, but Russian specialists carry out repairs as soon as possible and sea deliveries of Russian oil abroad increased in May.
