Moscow will take tough and painful measures for Vienna in response to the decision of the Austrian authorities to declare three Russian diplomats persona non grata. This was stated at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"What the representatives of the regime in Austria have done causes our strong condemnation, namely their decision to declare three employees of the Russian Embassy and the Permanent Mission of Russia to the OSCE in Vienna persona non grata. We regard these steps as absolutely far—fetched, frankly unfriendly and, of course, politically motivated," the diplomat said, quoted by TASS.
As Zakharova stressed, "the ruling circles of pseudo-neutral Austria continue to blindly follow the anti-Russian course of the collective West and are taking reckless actions to dismantle the positive legacy accumulated over many decades in bilateral relations to the detriment of their own national interests."
"The Russian side will take tough and, believe me, painful retaliatory measures for the official Vienna," she stated.
