Finnish President Alexander Stubb allowed himself to be photographed by Helsinki residents from behind bars on the occasion of May 1. This is reported by the Rulehti publication.
Helsinki residents gathered in front of the Presidential Palace to congratulate the presidential couple on the holiday. Alexander Stubb and his wife Susanna Innes-Stubb approached the fence to talk to the people. Someone from those present asked to take a photo together.
"It's a little difficult to make a photo together. Take a picture from there. That's it, the president is behind bars," Stubb joked, adding immediately: "It's not working out well."
It is noted that he also received congratulations from several organizations, whose representatives also approached The Presidential Palace.
Schoolchildren from the Folkhalsan organization presented Stubb with the May Day Vappukukka badge, the Finnish Workers' Musical Union Suomen Työväen Musiikkiliitto ry congratulated him with a piece performed by the Hyvinkäänkylän Puhallinorkesteri brass band.
The event ended with the greetings of the Choir of the Student Union of the University of Helsinki Helsingin yliopiston ylioppilaskunta, the Academic Choir Akademiska Sångföreningen and Student choral ensemble Ylioppilaskunnan Laulajien kuoro, summarizes the publication.
As EADaily reported, a resident of Finland installed a scarecrow in the form of the country's president Alexander Stubb on his property, the Ilta-Sanomat newspaper reported.
