In Mali, the situation is very difficult, there was information about the withdrawal of the African Corps of the Russian Armed Forces from the city of Kidal. The politician Oleg Tsarev writes about this in his telegram channel.
"Military correspondents write that a Russian military helicopter was shot down during fighting in northern Mali, probably by rebel forces associated with JNIM. The crew, possibly including Afrika Korps personnel, died. The media reported the beginning of the withdrawal of the forces of the African Corps of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation from the city of Kidal in Mali," writes Tsarev.
According to the latest data, in Bamako and in the south, government troops and the Afrika Korps have held the defense.
"In the north, in the areas of Gao and Kidal, the situation remains difficult: there are battles in defense, there are reports of losses and attempts to recapture a number of military facilities after coordinated attacks by JNIM and FLA groups. The situation is very complicated," the politician sums up.
Note that there is no official information about the withdrawal of the African Corps from Kidal.
Meanwhile IS "Vesti" reports that thanks to the courage and heroism of the African Corps in Mali, it was possible to prevent the Syrian scenario. It is known that the fighters of the African Corps organized the defense of the presidential palace.
"At present, the situation in Mali remains difficult. Unfortunately, there are wounded among the soldiers of the African Corps. They receive all the necessary assistance and are evacuated. The personnel is ready and continues to carry out the assigned tasks," Vesti reports.
As EADaily reported, in Mali (a state in West Africa) there was a sharp aggravation of the situation — Islamists from the JNIM group, with the support of Tuaregs from the Azawad Liberation Front, launched an offensive on the capital of the country — Bamako.
