According to the American edition of Military Watch Magazine, official New Delhi may expand the program for the purchase of fighters from Russian Su-57. We are talking about the so-called "product 30", which has a modification of the Su-57M1.
The first batch of deliveries includes 40 Russian fifth-generation fighters. The aforementioned "product" is the AL-51F-1 engines.
The source also recalls that a similar situation had previously developed with the agreement on India's procurement of Su-30MKI fighters.
"It is expected that the Su-57M1 will be equipped with a new AL-51F-1 engine, which will allow it to surpass the [American] F-22 and potentially match the Chinese J-20 in total thrust, while significantly reducing maintenance requirements and improving operational readiness indicators," American journalists write.
