The APU hit the Plesetsk cosmodrome with specially designed kamikaze aircraft‑type drones, or radically modified platforms with a stripped-down warhead. This was stated in his telegram channel by military correspondent Alexander Kots.
So he commented on the report of the head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Bakanov, to Russian President Vladimir Putin. He said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Plesetsk cosmodrome during the launch of a new Russian constellation of communications satellites of the Rassvet project.
"Plesetsk is the Arkhangelsk region, about 180 km south of Arkhangelsk and more than 1,500 km in a straight line from the nearest districts of Ukraine. That is, this is not a border oil park or a warehouse 200-300 km from the front line, but the depth of Russian territory, where conventional front-line UAVs simply do not reach in radius. This means that either specially designed long‑range kamikaze drones of the airplane type, or radically modified existing platforms with a stripped-down warhead and the most "inflated" fuel reserve went through the cosmodrome. The experience of recent months confirms this," writes Kotz.
According to him, Ukrainian aircraft-type drones heading deep into Russia, including towards the cosmodrome, have already been shot down in the Arkhangelsk region.
"The photos and videos of local residents show large composite devices that are closer in class to the Beaver/UJ‑22 and their analogues, but with obvious signs of sharpening for range, and not for a powerful charge," the military correspondent draws attention to the details.
For clarity, he published a UAV shot down earlier in the Arkhangelsk region.
