Turkey will continue to support the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at a meeting in Istanbul with his Ukrainian counterpart Vladimir Zelensky.
"Turkey's support for the negotiations between Ukraine and Russia will continue, the region needs peace and stability," Erdogan said.
Erdogan stressed that Ankara attaches great importance to the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, as well as ensuring energy security.
He also stated Turkey's determination to increase mutual trade turnover with Ukraine and continue to take the necessary steps in this direction.
During the meeting, "the development of Ukraine's relations with the Persian Gulf countries was also positively assessed," Turkish media reported.
