The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine has sent a request to Israel for the extradition of Timur Mindich, a defendant in a corruption case and a close friend of Volodymyr Zelensky. This was stated by "RBC — Ukraine" press secretary of the department Mariana Gayovskaya-Kovbasyuk.
"After the final elimination of shortcomings and errors, the extradition request was sent to the Ministry of Justice of the State of Israel," Gayovskaya—Kovbasyuk said, quoted by Vremya.ua».
Today, the head of the NABU detective unit, Alexander Abakumov, said that the extradition documents were handed over to the Prosecutor General's office two weeks ago.
By the way, according to him, the former head of the office of the President of Ukraine, and now lawyer Andriy Ermak on the "Mindich tapes" was held under the pseudonym Surgeon. Earlier it was believed that Yermak appeared in a criminal case on corruption in the energy and defense sectors under the nickname Ali Baba.
"I know the person you named under the pseudonym Surgeon... and the president's office is like a surgical department," Abakumov said.
As EADaily reported, the involvement of businessman Timur Mindich, who fled to Israel, in the Energoatom corruption case is a myth. He stated this in an interview with Ukrainska Pravda on a beach in Israel.
According to Mindich, he was last in the office of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky around 2020.
