Absolute record for 100 years: Republicans are fleeing Congress by the dozens

Republicans set a record for fleeing from Congress — 36 members of the House of Representatives announced their resignation in one electoral cycle. This is reported by CNN.

The presenters of the channel believe that this is not an accident.

"Republicans in the House of Representatives are running to the exit faster than children on the last day of school... the highest number of departures from the House since 1930. At the moment, there are already 36 in this cycle... this is an absolute record for almost a hundred years. .. This even exceeds the previous maximum of 34 set in the 2018 cycle... and I remember very well that it was a very, very successful year for Democrats in the House of Representatives. The essence is simple: they don't run to the exit just like that — they do it when they feel problems approaching. And the Republicans in the House, apparently, are confident that the problems are really coming," said the presenter, quoted by journalist Vladimir Solovyov.

As EADaily reported, there is a riot in the US Congress: more and more Republican lawmakers are going into a public conflict with the administration of US President Donald Trump in the context of the Iranian war. In the first three weeks of the conflict, they still tried to restrain themselves for reasons of party discipline, but now many are losing their nerve. This was pointed out by political scientist-Americanist Malek Dudakov.
