The Norwegian government has tightened the rules of stay for Ukrainian citizens of military age. The official Oslo refused to provide protection to Ukrainian men 18-60 years old.
According to the Ukrainian edition "Observer", this follows from the decree of the Royal Cabinet of Ministers. It says that newly arrived Ukrainian men will not be able to obtain temporary residence permits based on a group procedure.
However, the Norwegian authorities have retained the right for this category of refugees to apply for asylum under the standard individual procedure.
The situation was commented to the agency by the Minister of Justice and Public Security of Norway Astri Os-Hansen. According to her, Norway has already accepted the largest number of Ukrainians among the Scandinavian countries.
"Norwegian municipalities report an overload in the service sector and a shortage of housing," the minister complained.
Earlier, EADaily reported that Norway no longer believes in the ability of the United States to protect Europe. Therefore, Oslo considers closer and deeper cooperation with Northern European partners as a priority.
