Europeans are a "bunch of pussies." This was told by the US President's special envoy for Belarus, John Cole, talking about his meetings with Alexander Lukashenko.
During his speech at the McCain Institute, Cole frankly and in informal terms described exactly how the Donald Trump administration is doing business with official Minsk. According to him, during one of the meetings with Lukashenko, the Belarusian leader began to "complain about the Europeans."
"It's going to sound rude, and I apologize for the vocabulary, but I told him, "Yes, they're a bunch of pussies" (translated from English. "Yeah, they're a bunch of pussies" — EADaily). And from that moment it was in my pocket. He likes to swear obscenities, so you swear back. And we got along great. We sat there for five hours and he kept talking," Cole said.
He also said that the main principle of the Donald Trump administration is that sanctions are lifted in proportion to the number of released people.
"What you should understand: almost 80% of our sanctions against Belarus were imposed because of political prisoners. Therefore, the idea has always been the following: you give us prisoners, we give you sanctions relief in different proportions," he said.
Recall that after Donald Trump came to power, relations between the United States and Belarus began to gradually recover. Washington has lifted a number of sanctions against Belarusian enterprises and banks, and Minsk has released hundreds of those who are considered "political prisoners" in the West.
