The pilot and co-pilot died after a collision of an Air Canada passenger plane with 76 people on board with a fire truck on the runway of LaGuardia Airport in New York. This is reported by the Sky TV channel.
"An Air Canada plane crashed into a fire truck at LaGuardia Airport in New York, resulting in the death of the pilot and co-pilot. The flight attendant was found strapped to her seat outside the plane, but survived," the channel reports, citing NBC News sources.
It is noted that 41 people were taken to the hospital. 32 have been discharged, 9 are receiving treatment, some have suffered serious injuries.
The Bombardier CRJ-900 aircraft took off from Montreal at 22.12 eastern time last night. He landed in LaGuardia in about an hour and thirty.
LaGuardia Airport is closed for the duration of the investigation at least until 14.00 Eastern time.
