The deputy director of the Tokushima Zoo in Japan, Nariomi Kitamura, confirmed the fact of negotiations with the Russian side. The Japanese want to exchange their capybaras for a Russian polar bear. Details are provided by RIA Novosti.

Another variant of the arrangement is the capybara of Japan in exchange for the Amur leopard.

"We would like to exchange our capybaras for another animal. Number one is the polar bear. The fact is that we have a polar bear, but she is alone. We need a male to reproduce. We were supposed to get a male to breed from the Yokohama Zoo, but he died, went to heaven. It was the polar bear Gogo, who, by the way, was also of Russian origin, was born in a Russian zoo," Kitamura explained.

The Japanese capybaras have already expressed interest in the Barnaul Zoo. Thus, as it turned out, there is a big shortage of animals in Russia.

EADaily previously also informed — the Japanese actor played the main role in the Russian film.
