The Russian authorities intend to apply a set of restrictive measures against foreign maritime operators who plan to resume work in the ports of our country.
According to Kommersant, companies from unfriendly countries that are engaged in maritime transportation will have to fulfill a number of serious conditions for regular container flights.
The shipowner, the carrier and the operator itself must be registered within the framework of Russian legislation, and the share of domestic participation in the business must exceed 50%.
In addition, carriers will have to service sanctioned cargo on a priority basis. Another requirement is the mandatory insurance of ships from Russian companies or reinsurance on the territory of Russia, and all disputes arising should be considered exclusively in domestic courts.
The publication emphasizes that transportation from the country of departure to Russia and back should be carried out only on the operator's own vessels. At the same time, returning players are prohibited from having links with organizations from a special list, which includes Maersk, CMA CGM, Hapag-Lloyd and a number of other brands.
Earlier, EADaily reported that a new law expanding the grounds for using The Russian Armed Forces outside the country, first of all, can be used to protect Russian merchant vessels.
