According to him, there are also 140 million barrels of unsold Iranian oil in tankers at sea and in the coming days the White House will lift sanctions from them.

"In fact, we will use Iranian oil against Iran itself," Scott Bessent said.

Depending on estimates, this is 10-14 days of all oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz before the war with Iran, the US Treasury Secretary noted.

Also, he continued, the countries of the International Energy Agency (IEA) will sell 400 million barrels from strategic reserves and the United States has enough tools to deal with rising prices.

According to the information office of the US Department of Energy (EIA), the US has not yet printed out its strategic reserves, which on March 13 amounted to 415 million barrels.

At the same time, the effect of Russian and Iranian oil was not as great, obviously, as the United States would like. On the one hand, volumes went to the market. On the other hand, the markets doubt that the Iranian campaign will end within weeks. Despite the fact that attacks on oil and gas facilities in the Middle East are only intensifying. And the US allies, in fact, refused Donald Trump to attract their Navy to resume shipping in The Strait of Hormuz.
