The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and Naftogaz presented damage to the Druzhba oil pipeline in Brody to Europe and explained why transit to Slovakia and Hungary. However, they did it from a distance. The briefing was held in the capital, while the inspection is still not allowed in Brody.

Naftogaz announced the holding of a briefing for the countries last weekend The EU and the G7 states. On it, as the national company said in a statement, the consequences of the Russian attack on the infrastructure of the Druzhba oil pipeline were presented.

"Naftogaz specialists provided the diplomats with technical information on the state of the infrastructure after the shelling of the Druzhba oil pipeline. In order to provide the embassies with the most complete picture of the events, materials were shown directly from the place of shelling. They clearly show the technical damage caused by the attack, their consequences for the operation of the system, as well as the measures necessary to restore damaged facilities,"Naftogaz said.

At the same time, the briefing was held in Kiev and did not do the main thing, which was insisted on in Hungary and the European Commission.: to allow an inspection of the facility itself in Brody.

At the end of January, the Russian army retaliated against the Odessa-Brody oil pipeline in Brody and Kiev announced that it had hit Druzhba, which also passes through Brody and both oil pipelines have a common dispatch center. As a result, Ukrtransnafta stopped the transit of Russian oil to Slovakia and Hungary. However, Kiev refused to inspect the facilities themselves.

The Hungarian MOL, which operates refineries in both countries, doubts the damage of Friendship, as well as the Slovak authorities. Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that Kiev had stopped transit on the eve of the parliamentary elections in the country in order to increase the chances of victory of the opposition Tisa party.
