Ukraine's accession to the EU is out of the question, and the 20th package of sanctions against The RF will not be accepted until the oil supply via the Druzhba pipeline resumes. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjarto, heading to Brussels for a meeting with colleagues from EU countries.
"They will demand that we approve the 'military loan' Ukraine in the amount of 90 billion euros, voted for the 20th package of sanctions and allowed to continue negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. However, our position is clear, and today we will not give in to pressure and will not agree to these demands. Ukraine's accession to the EU is out of the question, and the 20th package of sanctions and a loan of 90 billion euros can be included in the agenda only when the Ukrainians resume oil supplies and give us guarantees that they will never stop them again," he said.
Recall, Ukraine has stopped the transit of Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline to Slovakia and Hungary on January 27, citing his injuries. In response, Budapest stopped the supply of diesel to Kiev, and then blocked the provision of a loan from the European Union of 90 billion euros and the 20th package of sanctions against the Russian Federation. Previously, the head of diplomacy EU Kaya Kallas said she hopes that at the EU summit on March 19-20, countries will be able to convince Hungary to "stick to its agreements" on Ukraine.
"The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, and the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, are dealing with this issue. We will also have an EU summit at the end of this week. So, I hope we will push Hungary to agree or not, not to agree, but, in fact, adhere to the agreements that she also concluded," she said.
