Saxophonist, People's Artist of Russia Igor Butman at the concert of the festival "Triumph of Jazz" called the queen of this genre singer, People's Artist of Russia Larisa Dolina. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
"We would like to start our program with one of the most amazing artists in the world… Today we are completing our festival "Triumph of Jazz" at number 26. I invite the queen of jazz to the stage. Larisa Dolina," the musician announced.
Butman noted that he had recently listened to recordings of joint performances with Dolina at the Jazz Carnival and found them wonderful.
"I was just happy that we played so well 24 years ago," Butman stressed.
The Russian festival "Triumph of Jazz" was founded by Butman in 2001. Over the years, at the invitation of the musician, such outstanding jazzmen as Elvin Jones, Gary Burton, Joe Lovano, McCoy Tyner, Mike Stern, Billy Cobham, Larry Coryell, Lee Ritenaur, Joshua Redman, Dee Dee took part in it. Bridgewater, Ahmad Jamal, Randy Brekker, Toots Thielemans, Gino Vanelli, Lee Konitz, Take6, Lenny White, Roy Haines, Dave Holland, Roy Hargrove, Bob James and others.
This year the festival was held at the International House of Music in Moscow on March 13-15.
