Russian engineers working in the SMO zone equipped the tank with an unusual "umbrella" designed to protect the military vehicle from drones. The photo is provided by the Telegram channel "Military informant".
A lattice screen is mounted directly on the barrel of the gun, which resembles an umbrella when unfolded. Chains were also attached to the structure to provide additional cover for the hull. There is also a solid screen already above the body with a "hairstyle" made of unwound steel cables.
The same "umbrellas", the source clarifies, were used back in Soviet times. We are talking about the development of 1964, when the ZET-1 screen protection kit included a mesh frontal screen and on-board protection. But then this decision was considered controversial and did not start the series.
EADaily previously also informed that the Russian T-72 tank received a new status thanks to the modernization of its potential.
