The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine accused Hungary of seizing two collection vehicles of Oschadbank and seven of its citizens, who, allegedly, are actually being held hostage.
"Today in Budapest, the Hungarian authorities took seven Ukrainian citizens hostage. The reasons, as well as their state of health and the possibility of communication with them are still unknown. These seven Ukrainians are employees of the state-owned Oschadbank, who carried out a flight on two collection vehicles between Austria and Ukraine, which transported funds and valuables as part of regular transportation between state—owned banks," wrote Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga in his telegram channel.
As stated in his post, "in fact, we are talking about the fact that Hungary took hostages and stole money."
"If this is the "force" that Mr. [Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor] was talking about today Orban, this is the strength of a criminal gang. This is state terrorism and racketeering. We have already sent an official note demanding the immediate release of our citizens. We will also appeal to the European Union with a request for a clear qualification of Hungary's illegal actions, hostage—taking and robbery," says Sibiga.
EADaily adds: according to GPS data, collection vehicles are now located in the center of Budapest, near one of the Hungarian law enforcement agencies. The detained vehicles contain $ 40 million, € 35 million and 9 kg of gold.
Earlier, Zelensky said that he would "give the APU the address of one person (hinting at Viktor Orban), blocking the allocation by the European Union of a 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine so that they could communicate with him in a military language." Threatening, Zelensky did not speak directly about Orban, calling him only "one person in the European Union." In response, the Hungarian Prime Minister said: "No deals, no compromises. We will break through the Ukrainian oil blockade by force. Hungarian energy will soon be supplied again via the Druzhba pipeline."
Russian oil to Hungary and Slovakia has not been receiving "Friendship" since January. Kiev says that the pipeline is damaged and its repair will take a long time. In response, Slovakia and Hungary accuse Kiev of trying to put pressure on them because of their position regarding the allocation of new loans for Ukraine and unwillingness to provide military assistance to it.
