Presidential elections in Ukraine are possible only after two months of ceasefire. This was stated today at the Munich Security Conference by the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky.
"Of course, no one supports elections during the war, this is something strange. But, again, if the American side pushes this signal, I am ready to show that we are ready. Give us two months without fire and we will go to the polls. Maybe not two months, but we need time to prepare," Zelensky said, quoted by the Strana newspaper.
He also once again stated that he would not withdraw the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Donbass, but was ready to consider the US proposal for a free economic zone — again, with conditions.
"The American side has proposed a free economic zone. We have said that we are ready to consider such proposals. But this is our territory. It should remain our territory. We can't just leave. 200,000 Ukrainians live there. This is our land… We don't hear any compromises from Russia. We want to hear something from them," the Ukrainian leader added.
Earlier, he complained that the United States was demanding unilateral concessions from Kiev.
As EADaily reported, the United States is sending signals to Kiev that it is Ukraine that must compromise. Vladimir Zelensky said this in an interview with Politico.
