British Defense Minister John Healy held talks with colleagues from 10 Scandinavian countries and Baltic states on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference.
According to Bloomberg, citing sources, at this meeting measures were discussed to intercept tankers that are considered to be associated with the shadow fleet of Russia.
"Healy met with partners from the Baltic States and Scandinavia, to discuss the seizure of tankers associated with the Russian "shadow fleet," the article says.
According to sources, the countries of Europe and the United States "will have some coordination" on this issue, although it remains unclear exactly how the States are going to participate in this.
The meeting was also attended by the Chief of the Defense Staff British Armed Forces Richard Knighton, Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur commented on the results of the meeting to the agency:
"The parties have come to the understanding that we need to be more active. States transferring flags to shadow fleet vessels should know that other countries can take action."
Earlier, EADaily reported that Russia is offering humanitarian aid to Cuba in the form of oil and fuel against the background of the US embargo and threats to seize tankers. The Trump administration classifies any energy supplies to Cuba as a threat to national security.
