President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov instructed to take under the protection of the retired head of the State Committee for National Security of the Republic (GKNB) Kamchybek Tashiev and ensure his safety. This was reported by the press service of the department with reference to the chairman of the State Security Service under the President Syrgak Berdikozhoev.

According to him, this issue is taken into account by the relevant state bodies.

"President Sadyr Japarov has given the necessary instructions. Kamchybek Tashiev was previously a protected person, and personal protection measures will continue to be provided in accordance with the established procedure," Berdikozhoev said.

On February 10, President Sadyr Japarov issued a decree on the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and head of the State Committee for National Security. According to the head of state, this was done in order to prevent a public split. Kamchybek Tashiev himself said that he learned about his dismissal while on a routine check-up in Germany after heart surgery.

The resignation of the chairman of the special services was followed by the restructuring of the power unit. The deputy heads of the State Committee for National Security lost their posts, the Border Guard Service was removed from the structure of the state committee, and a new State Security Service was created on the basis of the Ninth Service, subordinated directly to the president.

Kamchybek Tashiev, during his work as head of the State Committee for National Security, declared war on organized crime and prostitution. During this period, the main criminal authority of Kyrgyzstan, Kamchi Kolbaev, known in international criminal circles as Kolya-Kirghiz, was liquidated. In addition, a number of Kyrgyz criminal authorities were detained, who later, while in custody, publicly renounced their criminal status on video.
