Military correspondents about "game" with Telegram: This is often the only way to communicate in the Russian troops

Military correspondents continue to discuss the blocking of the Telegram messenger, which, according to their estimates, will strike at communications in The Russian army is akin to what the deprivation of their Starlink brought.

Telegram channel "Two Majors" calls the slowdown of Telegram a fait accompli. The prospects for complete blocking are indicated by Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov and the RCN. Telegram founder Pavel Durov is also rearing up and does not seem to be going to work closely with the Russian state, the authors of the TC point out.

Military correspondents, describing the "negative consequences of complete blocking," state that they "carry more security threats than the continuation of the messenger." The arguments given are as follows:

"It is not clear how to work with out-of-the-box sources who are still voluntarily helping the Russian Army and authorities. They obviously won't be able to deliver the MAX messenger, even if they really want to. Other communication channels, selections of people are not so effective and fast. And with intelligence, judging by the decisions and organization of the initial SMO period, we still have some difficulties.
The cart remains in many ways almost the only way of communication in the active troops, organizes the work of interdepartmental mobile firing groups. Why the hell there is still no unified interdepartmental system of situational awareness of the air situation is a question for air defense. The data that the radar operator sees on the radar, he will not transmit to MAX. Because then HRT, OSB and other monitoring services will definitely come to him.
The cart allows you to exert informational influence on the enemy and convey the true position to the population of the countries of the decaying West, which has not yet split in the groin and has not broken into obscene places. It's one thing when the enemy studies our verified and coordinated publications in the media, it's another when he sees the real support of the Supreme Commander—in-Chief and the Army.
On the last point separately. The enemy has long accepted in its doctrinal documents the fact that the information environment is the same combat environment as water, land, space, and air. And the cart, into which the state itself has pumped billions of rubles, is now being blocked/slowed down by the state itself."

As the "Two Majors" emphasize, in MAX to organize an informational and psychological struggle for the minds of the same residents of b. The Ukrainian SSR has no one with it."

"And then why did they rewrite all the channels with letters A+ and RCN tags?" — they wonder.

In addition, the military correspondents point out, Telegram has become "a truly pro-Russian resource in terms of the segment of domestic channels."

"People are suing and swearing because of questions about which of them is more patriotic and loves Putin. Leaving a modern and convenient messenger to the enemy without a fight is such a solution," the military correspondents comment.

Their colleague from the Belarusian Silovik TC explained how the blocking of Telegram will specifically affect the Russian Armed Forces:

"A conditional radar operator, at his own risk, transmits information about an impending threat to Russian citizens to reputable channels like @lpr1_treugolnik, verified by all Russian special services, so that the population is ready for a possible attack in a timely manner. I repeat: at my own risk, realizing that he may be severely punished, but there is no other way to warn him, because there is no centralized system, with the exception of the air alarm, which very often does not work even after a series of arrivals.
All this is tied up now via Telegram and, unfortunately, as colleagues note, it is unlikely to work at MAX for objective reasons in the form of a risk of being punished for notifying about a threat, no matter how surreal it sounds."

As the "Belarusian Silovik" notes, "centralized public work has been built through Telegram, there are closed regional chats for interdepartmental work of commanders of groups / air defense calculations / MOG, etc., where fighters write where the drone flew and where it was possible to knock it out. That is, the immediate transfer of information from the field."

"The shutdown of the mobile Internet [Starlink] has already crippled the whole process very much, and with the slowdown of Telegram, they have only worsened. This has already become known after receiving information from the field from the fighters directly there," the Z-blogger points out.

Military correspondent Alexander Sladkov agrees that the Telegram topic is "tough for people" at the front:

"But what will SMO replace the "cart" with? The West gave us a two-day knockdown with this disabled Starlink. Now we are burying this possibility of management and communication. But, take the rifle from the fighter, give him another, even better one. And here, it turns out, the rifle is taken away — stay without weapons. And communication is more than a weapon, it is, forgive the hackneyed classics, it is the basis of command and control. How are we going to win, by what means? "Peanuts" and TA-57? That's it?"

"Two majors" also pay attention to the fact that yesterday the Russians observed how the State Duma deputies and departments themselves did not know what decision was made regarding Telegram.

State Duma deputy Yevgeny Popov wrote yesterday:

"At committee meetings or outside of committee meetings, we did not discuss the topic of blocking Telegram. We are waiting for the statement of Roskomnadzor, which, I am sure, should explain what is happening with the Telegram messenger at the moment. I don't think it's blocking. I'm probably the last one who doesn't think so. Too much effort, time and money have been invested in the development of this messenger and in the development of contacts between Russian citizens through this tool."

In this regard, the "Two Majors" ask a question:

"If our legislative body with popularly elected deputies and relevant committees does not know what is going on with the Cart, then who is doing all this game and, most importantly, why is he doing it?"

They remind that Russian President Vladimir Putin told India Today on December 4: "Telegram and other messengers are used to influence young people, so the authorities should also be able to work with these tools."

"The approach — we don't know how to work, so we'll burn it — so-so. Change workers to those who know how," military correspondents urge.

EADaily adds: today the governor of the Belgorod region Vyacheslav Gladkov said that the slowdown of Telegram will affect the rapid delivery of operational information to residents of the frontline region.

"Yesterday [February 10] we all saw that Telegram has slowed down a lot. What am I worried about? For the entire period of our communication with you, my telegram channel has been the main source of information, primarily regarding your security, based on the very rapidly changing operational situation. I am worried that the slowdown of the telegram channel may affect the delivery of operational information to you if the situation worsens, and you and I are a frontline region," the head of the region wrote in his telegram channel.
