The perpetrator of the assassination attempt on the Deputy chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Lieutenant-General Vladimir Alekseev, is a Russian citizen Lyubomir Korba, he was detained today, on February 8, the FSB Public Relations Center (PSC) reported.
"With the assistance of partners from the United Arab Emirates, Russian citizen Korba Lyubomir, born in 1960, who was the direct perpetrator of the crime, was detained and handed over to the Russian side in Dubai," the special service said.
His accomplices were also Russians Viktor Vasin, born in 1959, and Zinaida Serebritskaya, born in 1971. The first was detained in Moscow, the second managed to leave for Ukraine. The search for the organizers of the crime continues.
As EADaily reported, an attempt on Lieutenant-General Vladimir Alekseev occurred on the morning of February 6 in a residential building on the Volokolamsk Highway in Moscow — he received several bullet wounds. The victim was hospitalized in serious condition. Now he has been operated on and the threat to his life has passed.
